This course allows you to acquire and develop generic, transferable skills and sector-specific skills in IT to assist in developing your practical skills and knowledge to complete tasks and demonstrate a level of achievement that enables you to progress to further learning. You will also acquire communication skills, soft skills and technical knowledge through building a digital portfolio

  • What you will study

    This course includes core units focusing on key transferable skills such as research and planning, time management and working with others. It also includes several specialist sector units, allowing you to acquire some of the practical skills identified by employers as fundamental building blocks for future competence in the workplace. Units include:

    • Being Organised
    • Developing a Personal Progression Plan
    • Creating a Storyboard
    • Creating a Website
    • Recording Income and Expenditure
  • Entry Requirements

    There are no entry requirements but if you don’t have any qualifications you will be asked to take an English and maths test.

  • Assessment

    During the course, you will build a digital portfolio for each unit. This will be assessed and you will be awarded either a Pass/Merit/Distinction or Distinction * grade. You will also be able to take additional classes in maths and English and gain separate qualifications in these subjects.

  • Moving Forward

    Successful completion of the course allows progression onto a Level 2/3 course or an apprenticeship
